Ministry Teams
We believe every member is called to be a minister. Whether leading a small group, helping serve food with hospitality, or greeting people at the front door, we want Great Road Church to be a place where people are using their time and talents to connect to God’s purposes. We offer several free regular classes to local English Language Learners as well as special events.
This team has two primary service opportunities: conversation partners – fluent English speakers to practice one-on-one with our students for our in-person or online classes — no previous teaching experience necessary; and language support team members – volunteers proficient in a language other than English who would be willing to help us communicate with potential students and/or translate materials. If you’re interested in getting involved, email our ELL coordinator Erica at ell@greatroadchurch.org.
The Great Road Prison Project seeks concrete ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in our local area whose lives are affected by incarceration.
We learn about the complexities of the criminal justice system. We partner with Partakers (partakers.org) as mentors in the College Behind Bars and Partakers Empowerment Program. And ultimately, we hope to advocate for restorative justice that advances proportional punishment, constructive prison culture, and second chances. To learn more, email prison.project@greatroadchurch.org.

REACH (REaching All CHildren) is Great Road’s inclusive program for families (all ages) that have special needs.
The purpose of the ministry is to provide support, encouragement, and adaptations as needed for all to experience the love of God and to grow a personal relationship with Jesus. We strive to work with families to provide programs and support that work for each individual as well as to create a community of support and friendship. Families interested in joining the program and those interested in being trained as volunteers should email the REACH program director Andrea at specialneeds@greatroadchurch.org.
Trailblazer leaders are faithful, fun, and caring volunteers who are committed to connecting kids with God, God’s people, and God’s purposes.
Each Sunday, Trailbazer leaders serve in a number of capacities, from caring for our babies in the nursery, to leading elementary age small groups, to teaching Bible lessons in large group. We strive to connect with and mentor kids as they grow in faith by sharing our lives with them in an authentic, fun, and creative way. If you are interested in getting connected, contact our Next Generation ministry pastor, Phyllis Myung, at phyllis@greatroadchurch.org.

We are a team of musicians who serve the Great Road community by leading it in worship through music.
As a ministry, we’re more than just a band. We believe God is our audience and our mission is to create a safe environment where people can encounter God and respond in praise. Therefore, our measure of success is not merely in how good we sound (although we believe that’s important too!), but whether we and those attending Sunday services are being led into an ever deepening communion with God. We’re always on the lookout for passionate and teachable singers, musicians, and sound engineers to join our team. To learn more about getting involved, contact Pastor Travis, at travis@greatroadchurch.org.
The Worship Production team is responsible for creating environments where people can encounter God.
Worship Production techs run the audio, display the visuals and text projected on our screens, and edit and load the weekly sermons to our website and podcast. We are always looking to grow our team of dedicated, detail-oriented, and mindful Worship Production techs. Contact Pastor Travis at travis@greatroadchurch.org to learn more or to get involved in this ministry.

The goal of the Welcoming team is to make every person who enters the church to feel at home.
Whether they are visiting for the first time or have been part of the church from the beginning, we desire for your visit to church to feel renewing. The Welcoming team greets, provides name tags, hosts the sanctuary during service, and leads the way in connecting with others after service. People of all ages are welcome to join the Welcoming team! To learn more, contact Pastor Willie at will@greatroadchurch.org.
The Hospitality Team facilitates human and spiritual connection through food and drink.
The hospitality team prepares food and refreshments for Sunday mornings and special events, allowing us to be physically and spiritually nurtured. To learn more, please contact Janet Lorusso, our hospitality Ministry Team leader.

The Creative Arts Team helps us encounter God through beauty and creativity.
This ministry tends to the aesthetics of our sanctuary space and other events, setting up the altar or other visual presentations to help us connect with God personally. The Creative Arts team is always looking to include more volunteers. If you’re interested in joining the regular rotation for Sunday morning creative decor or to help with special events, contact Pastor Travis at travis@greatroadchurch.org.
Great Road’s SoulCare ministry provides safe, listening space for those who hunger for God.
Anyone who wants to have a conversation about their spiritual journey is welcome to make an appointment at any time. SoulCare meetings are more than ‘spiritual check-ins.’ They are an opportunity for honest spiritual conversations with people who care about your growth and spiritual desires and who will hold space for you to notice God’s presence in your life. Volunteers are nominated and trained by the pastoral team. To learn more, email Ruth Richards, our SoulCare team leader.
